Position Summary

The Workforce Development Intern will support Region 5’s workforce development efforts by assisting with planning, coordination, assessment and evaluation activities. This role will help strengthen connections among regional public health staff and support staff development opportunities.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Support planning and logistics for regional workforce development events, trainings, and meetings, including preparing materials, taking notes, and summarizing key action items.

  • Assist with workforce development assessment and evaluation activities by creating surveys, analyzing responses, and identifying themes, needs and opportunities.

  • Develop a newsletter or monthly communication to share workforce development updates, resources, training opportunities, and regional information with public health staff.

  • Update and maintain regional staff contact lists and assist with follow-up communication related to evaluations, assessments, and staff feedback.

Required Skills & Experience

•Current undergraduate student in public health

Preferred Skills & Experience

•Effective oral and written communication skills.

•Ability to take initiative, manage time and work independently.

•Willingness to contribute to a team environment

 

Additional Information

This role supports the region, and public health staff in the region. This role is not community facing, the “clients” are employees and all work will focus on developing staff to fulfill the missions of health departments.
