Position Summary
The Chatham County Public Health Department Community Engagement and Outreach Intern will aid the health department's efforts to connect residents with public health programs, services, and resources. This role will help strengthen community awareness through outreach presentations, distributing health education materials, and supporting engagement activities with local partners and residents
Pay & Compensation

COMPENSATION RANGE:
$3,840 stipend. $20 an hour for up to 192 hours over 12 weeks. The intern is requested to work 16 hours a week during the 12-week internship. However, weekly hours can be flexible.

Roles & Responsibilities
Create and help deliver presentations to community groups about CCPHD programs, services, and resources.
Distribute outreach and health education materials, such as rack cards and flyers, to community sites across Chatham County.
Support planning, coordination, and facilitation of community focus groups and coalition meetings.
Assist with tabling and outreach at community events.
Help identify new outreach opportunities with local organizations, partners, and community groups including faith-based communities.
Required Skills & Experience
Current junior or senior undergraduate student in public health.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Interest in working within a local public health department.
Strong organizational and communications skills.
Additional Information
Occasional attendance at community events on weekday evenings or weekends may be required with prior notice.
