Position Summary
This position will support an effort to generate a virtual platform for collecting public health stories from our workforce across the state. Coupled with data, the goal is to use these stories to advance our public health advocacy.

Roles & Responsibilities
The student in this role will need to work closely with the preceptor as the project is developed, including final design of the deliverables.
The student will work closely with other public health organizations across North Carolina who are currently engaged in storytelling and advocacy efforts (NCPHA, FHLI, NCIPH, Western NC Health Policy Initiative, and others). The student may also seek information and best practices from other states and disciplines with similar story banking programs.
The student should bring technical expertise in website development to co-create a virtual platform where public health workers across the state can easily upload stories about their work in various forms (text, images, audio, video).
The student will develop a system to catalogue and group public health stories as they are shared.
The student will develop materials to support the rollout of this effort to the public health workforce statewide.
Required Skills & Experience
Experience with web design is critical.
The student should have skills around marketing, visual appeal, and ease of use for websites.
Experience gathering data from multiple sources to identify best practices and lessons learned.
Clear communication skills, both written and orally.
Ability to work independently and adhere to timelines.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Experience working on policy and advocacy issues (at any level) would be helpful.
Experience working in rural health settings would be a plus!

There is flexibility regarding how much of this position needs to be on-site. Interested students who are not local to the Triangle area should be encouraged to apply!
