Position Summary

This paid, hybrid student will support childhood lead poisoning prevention outreach and education efforts by helping develop, refine, and distribute community-facing materials on childhood lead prevention, as well as assisting with the coordination of partner engagement activities. They will also contribute to data-informed outreach planning and help advance educational campaigns that increase awareness and prevention in high-risk communities.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Assist with distributing educational materials through community sites and partner networks.

  • Contribute to data-informed outreach planning (e.g., organizing outreach lists, tracking engagement, identifying priority audiences).

  • Help create, maintain, and improve community-facing materials (print and digital) focused on childhood lead poisoning prevention.

Required Skills & Experience

None outside of NC Public Health Pathways Practicum Program eligibility requirements.

Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Experience working with community partners

  • Familiarity with public health toxicology or environmental health topics

  • Prior community engagement or health communications experience

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Additional Information

This position will occasionally be required to travel to different sites within Chatham County, with prior notice. On-site work requirements are negotiable, but 1-2 days on-site per week is preferred.
