Internship Position Submission Form

This Position Submission Form should only be completed by representatives from a North Carolina local health department or the North Carolina Division of Public Health.

Key Dates:

  • June 15-26: Fall '26 Internship Applications Open to Students

  • July 10: Partners Receive Applicant List/*Strong Candidates List 

  • August 3: Final Candidate Selection Due From Partners

  • August 24: Earliest Fall '26 Internship Start Date

Please read the following before completing:

  1. The purpose of this form is to gather important details about open governmental public health internship opportunities as part of the North Carolina Public Health Pathways Program (NCPHP).

  2. Please review the entire form before beginning to ensure all required information is ready.  Once submitted, the NCPHP Team will contact the submitter or primary contact if any edits or additional information is needed.

  3. Upon request, the NCPHP Team can provide a list of qualified candidates for the posting whose skills and experience are a strong fit for the position based on the information provided in this submission form. Alternatively, or in addition, an unscreened list of all applicants is also available.

  4. The organization is responsible for selecting a candidate in their preferred manner; while interviews are recommended, they are not required. Once a candidate is selected, the organization must notify the NCPHP Team to ensure the candidate is enrolled in the program.

To help foster a cohort-based experience, we ask that students begin their internship by Monday, August 31, and work with their internship site for at least 12 weeks, through Friday, November 20. Internship sites are welcome to work with their students beyond the 12-week program if desired. 

Students should begin their internship no earlier than August 24 and no later than August 31.
